I am excited to announce that I have been accepted to the Southern Summer Institute for Worker Justice Program, organized by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). This highly anticipated program, now in its second year, will take place at North Carolina A&T State University from July 14th to July 19th, 2024, offering an unparalleled opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Designed for HBCU students interested in social, economic, and political justice, the program will be an intensive and multi-faceted experience. The SSIWJ aims to expose, train, and equip the next generation of diverse worker justice and social justice movement builders. Participants will engage in canvassing, rallies, community advocacy activities, and workshops led by experienced local and national activists. The program will also cover the fundamentals of movement building and the history of the labor and civil rights movements, alongside opportunities to explore music, arts, and entertainment in the Greensboro community.

I look forward to contributing to this movement and building power for stronger unions while growing both personally and professionally through this incredible opportunity.
